  When the Saints

Now based in Beijing China, Matthew started his professional music studies at a Tertiary level at just 16 year of age. Studying solo and orchestral trumpet with John Foster (Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Baroque Brass) whilst completing a Bachelor of Music. He then went on to study Jazz improvisation with Warwick Alder (Sydney Conservatorium).

By 20 years of age, Matthew had performed at all major music festivals and venues in Australia. At just 21 years old, Matthew relocated to Beijing and began teaching Jazz studies at the Beijing Contemporary Music Academy. He is currently working on producing his first album with his own group the Matthew Parker Quintet.

Matthew was also founding member of the Australian funk sensation “Dojo Cuts” (dojocuts.com) who have recently signed with Italian record label Record Kicks and have currently finished producing their second album. This has seen his compositions on international airplay on the BBC.
