Now based in Beijing China, Matthew started his professional music studies at a Tertiary level at just 16 year of age. When he was 18 years old, Matthew was a founding member of the Australian funk sensation “Dojo Cuts” and released numerous albums internationally. This has seen his compositions on international airplay on the BBC. By 20 years of age, Matthew had performed at all major music festivals and venues in Australia, including the Sydney Opera House and the Womadelaide Festival. He draws from a range of 20^th century improvised music styles, including African, Funk and Latin Music.

At just 21 years old, with his trumpet and stunning vocals featured on albums released internationally throughout the world, Matthew has decided to focus his energy on producing the first albums for his groups ‘The Matthew Parker Trio and Quintet’ These groups feature the best musicians in Beijing.
